On October 28, 2007 Survival Instinct The Network, INC hosted its first cancer
walk themed "Wings Of Hope." Men, Women and Children participated in our
community event that brough awareness into our Bronx Community.

to have the highest mortality rate. The goal of "Wings of Hope" is to SAVE LIVES
though early detection and prevention. Clara W. Geer, SIT NET's Community Relations
Director states - "Our CCA Walk created a frinsy in the neighborhood and reminded the community that Awareness + Early Detection = "A Life Saved."
Registration was held from 12:45pm to 2:00pm at Senator Diaz's office on 172nd
street and Rosedale Avenue. SIT NET's founders, Jahi & Sylvia Williams-Simmons
announced the official start time, route and CCA Walk's purpose. Camella Price -
Senator Diaz Chief of Staff who was also instrumental in the planning of the CCA Walk
reinerated to the importance of the days event before introducing our welcome address
speaker - Assemblyman Ruben Diaz, Jr. - Now the walk courd officically begin! Our NY
finest - 43rd precint police motor cade, led by Community Affairs Officer Deas, made
sure that when we walked - we walked in safety - Thanks 4-3!
and out of neighborhoods in the Soundview, Westchester and Parkchester areas for 2 1/2
miles to our ending ceremonial destination - Parkchester Oval on Metropolitian Avenue. 10
feet in the air were purple, lilac and pink balloons celebrating Survivorship, Hope and Love.
Many walked with signs in memory of a loved one who has succumb to cancer and other
walked with signs provided by SIT NET that read "Wings of Hope", "Community Cancer & Awareness Walk", "Until we find a Cure". Chants of "What do want" and "Until we find a
Cure" led by SIT NET's Co-Founder Jahi Williams-Simmons & Tia Taylor - SIT NET's Dir.
Deserve Program and Rodney Shakiel Taylor - KIDS Program Advisor. Breast cancer facts
and other cancer statistics as reported by American Cancer Society was read loudly into a microphoned bull horn for all to hear which brought attention and warning to all passerby's.
Assemblyman Diaz Jr and Camella Price of Rev Senator Ruben Diaz office kept the pace as they marched and chanted along with members of the community.

2007 "Wings Of Hope" Award to Francisca Negron
Mrs. Negron is a 99 years young woman recently diagnosed with cancer and began chemotherapy a few days prior to our Community Cancer & Awareness Walk.
Her grandson, Juan Quiles and other members of the family are her surviving caregivers
and assures Mrs. Negro needs are met as she travels the journal to the road of recovery.
Thank you Mrs. Negron for showing us that no matter what the age - a life is always worth preserving - you give us strength, inspiration and hope..
